I am a mother of three daughters, a wife, and the daughter of Loretta Trudeau (nee Mandamin) and the late Maxie Trudeau. My grandparents are Victoria and the late John Mandamin, and the late Ignatius and Olive Trudeau. My husband is Saul Bomberry.

Recently, I was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Toronto 2017 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) Host Society and worked with our team to deliver an $11.3M event for Indigenous people from across Turtle Island that set high benchmarks. Despite limitations on time, budgets and staffing – we finished in a surplus budget position and left a large legacy of resources, knowledge, media partnerships, and opportunity for future events. I held this position while maintaining a home here in Wiikwemkoong, commuting every week to Toronto for more than a year. I now work for Noojmowin Teg Health Centre as Manager of Health and Wellness.

My experience spans health and wellness, strategic investments, communications and community development, management and organizational development within and outside Indigenous communities across the country. I have been an entrepreneur – a former owner/editor/writer/publisher of the Wiky News, and earned a Master’s degree in business administration in 2015.

Demonstrating initiative and accountability, I worked with Indigenous leaders across Ontario to establish a provincial non-profit organization dedicated to sport and wellness. I also earned a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Management, and an Honours degree in Communications Studies and Sociology. Most importantly, I value the lifelong learning that comes with parenting three daughters with my husband in a changing world.

I am a community volunteer having dedicated my time and energy to youth, sports, leadership, fundraising, the Nursing Home, and served on the Band’s Conflict Resolution committee and Finance and Administration committee in the past.

The teachings that we have inherited: zaagidwin, debwewin, mnaadendmowin, nbwaakawin, dbaadendiziwin, gwekwaadziwin, miinwa aakedhewin (love, truth, respect, wisdom, respect, honesty and bravery) – provide a foundation and a roadmap, to guide our actions and our decision making.

I have a vision for our community that prioritizes Health and Safety, building our Economy, and protecting our Environment.
